Garden design and planting

A garden is designed for the way you will use it: where the sun falls at seven in the evening, where the children play, how much time you want to spend on it. We start there, then draw a plan you can read.

What is included

• Visit, measurements and a plan with a planting list
• Soil preparation and improvement
• Planting of trees, hedges, shrubs and perennials
• New lawn, sown or laid as turf
• Mulching of beds to hold water and keep weeds down

Good to know

Autumn is the best planting season: roots settle over winter and the garden needs far less watering the following summer. Plants that fail to take in the first year are replaced, as long as the watering advice we leave you has been followed.

Creating a garden does not qualify for the tax credit; only upkeep does. We plant with the legal distances from the boundary in mind, so a hedge does not become a dispute ten years later.
